What kind of school is New Hope Academy?
New Hope Academy is a pioneering school that brings together a love for Jesus Christ with the promise of an excellent classical education. We have a committed focus on whole-child development through caring, academic mentoring along with a vision for connected community where students and families form meaningful relationships across economic, racial and cultural lines. This focus provides a foundation to begin the process of combating the roots of inequality, race-based separation and class-oriented isolation.

How many students attend New Hope Academy?
New Hope has an enrollment capacity for 220 students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, with two classes for each grade. Fourteen is the maximum number of students in each classroom.

What is the student/faculty ratio at New Hope Academy?
The ratio of students to faculty is approximately 9 to 1. This ratio measures the number of total teaching staff to the number of students in the entire school.

What is New Hope’s academic approach to education?
New Hope Academy has a classical approach to education. We believe in hands-on activities, experiential learning and application of knowledge. We want to challenge the students and develop their cognitive thinking skills. We want learning to be fun and enjoyable, and desire for students to desire to discover more about God’s creation through language, arts, science, humanities and mathematics.

Where do New Hope students go once they graduate from sixth grade?
Our students attend many of the local public and private schools, including Battle Ground Academy, Brentwood Academy, Christ Presbyterian Academy, Franklin Christian Academy, Franklin Road Academy, Franklin Classical School, Freedom Middle, Grace Christian Academy, Grassland Middle, Heritage Middle and Montgomery Bell Academy.

Does New Hope Academy plan to expand to seventh and eighth grade?
Yes. We are prayerfully planning and considering the expansion to seventh and eighth grade.

Is New Hope Academy affiliated with any church or religious organization?
New Hope Academy is not affiliated with any church or religious denomination. Our mission, however, is to teach through a biblical worldview. Our approach is rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The faculty and staff of New Hope articulate the reality of this relationship in their classrooms, lessons and personal lives.

How much does it cost to attend New Hope Academy?
The tuition for the 2016-2017 school year is $11,200, plus the cost of uniforms, supplies, lunches, field trips, and certain class activities.

Does New Hope Academy offer financial aid?
Our mission is to offer an excellent classical education to families from all economic backgrounds. Financial aid is need-based and is available to qualified families. Financial assistance is distributed based on available funds. Financial assistance is not guaranteed.

How does a student apply for admission to New Hope Academy?
Admissions packets are available at anytime.

Admissions Process:

  • Schedule an appointment to tour New Hope Academy.
  • Complete and return the admissions application, the financial assistance application (if applicable) and the application fee.
  • Once an opening is available, records will be requested from the student’s school and an appointment will be scheduled to have the student assessed.
  • Parents meet with the Headmaster.

What age should my child be to enter pre-kindergarten or kindergarten?
Students applying for pre-kindergarten must be at least four (4) years old by August 1 of the school year that they plan to attend New Hope Academy. Students applying for kindergarten must be at least five (5) years old by September 1 of the school year they plan to attend New Hope Academy.

Are students required to take an entrance exam?
All applicants must be assessed for grade placement. In order to offer admission into New Hope Academy, there must be an opening in the grade level corresponding to the results of the student’s assessment.

Are parents required to volunteer?
Yes. Parents are an integral part of New Hope Academy and their child’s education. We ask parents to participate in at least two hours of volunteer activities each month.

What is Saturday School and are parents/students required to come?
Saturday School is held twice a year (in October and March). Saturday School is a required attendance day for both parents and students. Saturday School was established to allow parents to participate in the academic day of their student(s).

Are New Hope Academy students required to wear uniforms?
Yes. All students are required to wear the New Hope Academy uniform. Uniforms help to reduce the student’s concern and day-to-day distractions (i.e. fads, styles and brands) and provides more of an opportunity to focus on academics.

Does New Hope Academy offer hot lunches? Yes. New Hope currently has lunches catered each day. Lunch is available for a modest price. Federal free and reduce lunch applications are available.
